In 1970, a small group of private practitioners gathered together in the living room of a suburban Los Angeles home to discuss issues arising from their practice. They explored new developments in research and shared their expertise with one another, each member having been trained in different schools of thought and specialties. The Association of Educational Therapists was born out of this exchange of ideas, and today, AET is the national professional organization for educational therapists dedicated to providing standards of practice, ongoing professional development and training to its members.
