Membership Information

AET offers seven levels of membership to our diverse community. Anyone with an interest in Educational Therapy is welcome to become a member of AET. All memberships share these basic services.
- Access to Member Area of the AET website
- Subscription to the Educational Therapist Journal, published three times a year
- Professional Directory including listings for Associate, Allied, Professional, BCET and Retired members
- Discounts at AET workshops and conferences
- Member prices at the AET online store
There are additional benefits included in some levels of memberships.
Student membership is open to students who can verify that they are enrolled in a university or college program leading to qualification for professional membership.
General membership is open to any individual interested in the field of educational therapy. Parents, teachers and those working with learning disabled individuals, among others, can benefit from membership.
Allied Professional membership is open to any licensed or certified professional who works in professions that interface with educational therapy (e.g., psychologists, pediatricians, speech and language therapists, school and/or learning center directors, etc.). Allied Professionals are:
- listed in the AET Directory
- may be included in the referal search engine
- receive an additional discount on top of the basic membership discount.
Associate ET membership is open to individuals who have completed all academic training requirements for Professional membership and who are ready to begin completing the BCET Supervised Hours requirement. Associate ETs are:

- may be included, with their Supervisor's approval, in the referal search engine
- receive an additional discount on top of the basic membership discount.
Professional ET membership is open to educational therapists who have a Master's degree (or who have met the requirements of graduate level and/or upper division level courses), are engaged in educational therapy in private practice, public or private schools, private clinics, hospitals, or public agencies, and who have met the direct service delivery minimum of 1,500 hours and have completed their BCET Supervised Hours. ET Professionals are:

- may be included in the Referral search engine
- receive an additional discount on top of the basic membership discount
Board Certified ET membership is open to professional educational therapists who have a Master's degree, have been Professional members in good standing for at least one year, and have met additional requirements as specified by the AET Certification Board. Board Certified ETs are:
- listed in the AET Directory
- may be included in the Referral search engine
- receive an additional discount on top of the basic membership discount
Retired membership status is open to any individual who has been a Board Certified ET, ET Professional, or Allied Professional member in good standing for three years who is retiring from her/his chosen field. This person may retain a maximum of 7 private practice hours per week. Retired members are:

- receive an additional discount on top of the basic membership discount
