About the Instructors

Marcy Dann, MA, BCET

Marcy received her Master's degree in Learning Disabilities from Northwestern University.  She is an instructor and coordinator of the Educational Therapy programs at CSUN and she consults for Bridges Academy.  She has been in private practice and an active member of AET for over 20 years.

Loren Deutsch, LCSW, ET/P

Loren Deutsch is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Professional Educational Therapist in Winnetka, Illinois.  She works with adults and adolescents and has been in private practice for fifteen years. Loren has been a professional member of AET for several years.  She is particularly interested in working at the border of two disciplines and the relationship between emotions and learning. 

Nan Freund, MEd, BCET, FAET

Nan received her Master’s degree in Learning Disabilities from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She has been in private practice in Chicago for over 20 years. She is a past president of AET and a Fellow of the Association.

Risa Graff, MA, BCET

Risa received her Master’s degree from Northwestern University in Chicago and for the past 20 years has conducted an educational therapy practice in Olympia Fields, Illinois. She is the AET national President Elect.

Karen Kass, PhD, MFCC, BCET, FAET

Karen Kass, PhD is a Marriage and Family Therapist and Board Certified Educational Therapist who has been in practice for over 20 years. She works primarily with middle and upper school students in her educational therapy practice, focusing on executive functioning, study and life coping skills. Her psychotherapy practice also includes adults, both individuals and couples.
