This webinar is FREE to AET members and the community!

As educational therapists are encountering and supporting more gender questioning, gender fluid, and trans youth and young adults, it is critically important for us to be well-informed about the challenges that these students are experiencing and the resources available to guide us as practitioners.

This panel discussion will provide an introduction to the needs and challenges of students facing gender identity and gender transition issues. Because of the inextricable link between emotions and learning, as ETs we provide an accepting space for students to explore not only their learning needs, but also a safe place where difficult personal information comes to light.

Learning Outcomes:

Attendees will be able to

  1. explain the unique challenges trans youngsters often face in school and ways to support them
  2. discuss the emotional issues and risks that many trans youngsters experience
  3. employ the vocabulary of the LGBTQ+ community
  4. identify three resources that  help  address concerns of trans youngsters and their families
