California State University, Northridge (CSUN), in collaboration with the Association of Educational Therapists, offers both a Master of Arts Degree in Educational Therapy and an Advanced Study in Educational Therapy Post Master’s Certificate through the Department of Special Education in the Michael D. Eisner College of Education. The Master of Arts degree in Educational Therapy Program is a 36 unit program, while the Advanced Study in Educational Therapy Certificate is a 15 unit program. Both programs provide exemplary preparation for Educational Therapists who wish to combine educational and therapeutic approaches for evaluation, remediation, case management, and communication/advocacy on behalf of children, adolescents and adults with learning disabilities and other learning challenges, and prepares them to serve students in both clinical and other settings. 

The Master of Arts Degree in Educational Therapy Program and the Advanced Study in Educational Therapy Certificate Program both align with the Associaton of Educational Therapists' course requirements for Associate level membership.  The Advanced Study in Educational Therapy Certificate Program is open to applicants who have already earned a Master's Degree in Special Education, Education, or other related fields (as approved by the ET Program Coordinator).  

Enrollment in either program is designed for part-time students, and courses are offered in the late afternoon or evening in order to meet the needs of working professionals.  Both programs include 15 units of specialized coursework in Educational Therapy, including the following courses: Principles of Educational Therapy, Advanced Study of Literacy Problems, Advanced Assessment, Clinical Case Management and the Internship in Educational Therapy.  All coursework is offered online, with a mix of synchronous and asynchronous scheduling and both of the clinical experiences in each program can also be completed online.
